When I turn the power switch on, there is a drain on the household power, but the motor will not start and will shut off if left on for too long. If I wrap a cord around the shaft and pull on the cord at the same time that I flip the switch to on, it will start running and then run fine. My neighbor said it was probably the start switch inside the motor not the power switch. I took the motor apart and the neighbor came over and looked at the start switch. The spring loaded part would not move freely. We got it cleaned up and now springs out. While I had it opened, I wrapped electrical tape around some of the wires where the brittle insulation had broken though I could not see any bare wire.

But as they have pointed out, that is not always true. A properly-connected capacitor shouldn’t have current flow in a DC circuit, so it should not warm up. It had a 3 cylinder Geo engine in it. Garden tractor pulling is not the same as garden tractor racing. Pulling is not about the speed of the tractor but about the power and traction it has. Over the years I have won and lost with quite an assortment of garden tractors of just about every brand.

The following instructions are for creating a MegaSquirt to Relay Board cable. It is for those who are creating their own harness. With both boxes mounted, measure the distance between them from DB connector to DB connector – this will be the length that you will cut the individual wires. If you are not using a Relay Board, allow enough length in each of your wires to reach the target component. It is often better to be too long and trim afterwards, than to be too short and have to splice additional lengths on.
For a Relay Board cable, you can move both heat shrink pieces to the center of the wire length, and then twisting the center of the wire with a few twists to hold the heat shrink in place, so that it does not fall off the wire or run down while soldering the connection.

No S-meters, no crystal filters and most importantly, no external power supply. The Dual Round Capacitors are simply the way engineers are trying to save on space and cost. They could have put two capacitors in a unit but combined them in a single package. A dual capacitor will most often have one side to start the compressor Herm and the other side to start the condensing fan motor. The third single leg on a dual capacitor is a shared common leg. A Start or Run Capacitor can be combined into one capacitor called a Dual Capacitor with three leads, but can be split between two separate capacitors.
The Start Capacitor gives a fan motor the torque it needs to start spinning then stops; while the Run capacitor stays on giving the motor extra torque when needed.
